First day at Anurag

(Kurt writing) Monday night and we just finished our first day at Anurag. We toured the tailoring facilities and had a wonderful lunch. As usual in India, you must be flexible, due to some strike, their was sewage backed up in the street that leads to the school and it made it impossible to get through. So plan B. We shifted to home visits of the children's families who are sponsored by Immanuel.
We split up into 2 groups and visited 5 houses. In the many years that I have  visited Anurag, no 2 visits are the same. This one is no exception. As we walked through the village of Lado Sarai we encountered a wedding parade. The groom was on a horse and their was a sea of beautifully colored Sarai's. Drums beating at a deafening pitch and people dancing in the streets. I felt like we were in the middle of a Bollywood musical. Super fun.
It is always so humbling to do the family  visits. The families have very little possessions but they are so warm and hospitable. Always makes me think of how we can do more for these wonderful people.

As I write this we are in the middle of Delhi rush hour traffic. Then sights, sounds and smells of India are all around us. This morning Gloria did a devotion from Ps 96. We read:
Psalm 96:3-4
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise …
We are so excited to declare the Gloria ofthe Lord  to the people of India.
